The handle is 10 inches high, so plenty of room over the shoulder with a coat, but can also be carried in the hand. Fill it with Groceries, Books, computers, a scarf, a change of shoes, make up kit, toiletries, notebooks, pen cases. It is made with 7 oz leather, so as beautiful and refined as it looks - it is RUGGED ! This bag will last a life time. There is a small pouch with snap closure, as well as a top snap closure for the whole bag.
