Kinderhook Farm Sheep Leather Coat (for PreOrder with Christmas Delivery)

The special thing about wearing leather, is that it both feels like armor, as well as the most sensual hug. Nurturing and Protective, yet it is so light you barely feel like you have anything on. But what makes THIS coat special is the way that it was made. Most leather coats from luxury brands are from lambs who were raised for their skins, and were most likely slaughtered when they were babes. It is a very devastating industry, I can't even think about it. My coat is made from mature sheep, whose meat was sent to our Brooklyn restaurants to be appreciated, and these sheep were raised on grass, with their mothers, sisters, brothers and grandmothers. Then the leather is Veg tanned, which is unique for apparel. Almost all apparel is made with chemically chrome tanned leather, for Maximum stretch; whereas, our leather is naturally chestnut tanned. All of this takes place within a couple hundred miles of NY, with the sewing and cutting happening on 38th street by a couture leather house. Its so special, I just needed to Spell It Out.

Right now, the sheep are grazing on sweet grasses, and are not mature yet, so there is no leather now. By November it will be time for them to come to our restaurants, and for the hides to go to the tannery. By Christmas I should have another bunch of coats. Order one!! The 10 I had from the first batch sold out in 4 days.
